As the weather heats up, the urge to take a fast car for a cruise on an empty highway grows stronger. Is that just us? We didn’t think so.
Luckily for all of us, this year is shaping up to be a standout in terms of high-performance vehicle releases. We’ve compiled a list of the most exciting upcoming rides, as well as a few that are already available if you just can’t wait.
Tesla Model S

When you think of sporty electric vehicles, one of the first to come to mind is the Tesla Model S Plaid. This vehicle combines power and performance with the eco-friendliness of an EV, with a peak output of over 1,000-horsepower and a top speed of 200 mph. Of course, the Model S also features an ultra-high-tech interior, with a 17-inch touchscreen display, an in-car gaming system comparable to the top consoles, and a 27-speaker premium audio system. If you have the need for speed and comfort, the Model S has you covered.
2022 BMW Alpina B8 Gran Coupe (Coming Spring 2021)

With the luxurious feel of a BMW sedan, featuring the 612-horsepower of a 4.4L turbocharged V8 engine, the upcoming Alpina B8 Gran Coupe is truly the best of both worlds. Its sporty yet graceful design, including two exclusive Alpina colors, and high-tech interior provides a level of comfort many sports cars don’t have. Be prepared to look and feel like a million bucks, while also leaving everyone else in the dust.

The Kia Stinger, already a powerhouse in its class, has stepped up its game even more with the 2022 GT-Line. Now featuring a 300-horsepower, 2.5 L turbocharged engine, the Stinger GT will make a strong statement wherever it goes. Your joyrides will remain safe, with a suite of standard driver assistances features to keep you aware of your surroundings. All of this technology is packaged in a sport but refined appearance that’s guaranteed to turn heads.
2021 Dodge Durango SRT Hellcat (Coming early 2021)

The Hellcat name tells you everything you need to know about this vehicle: it’s sinfully fast. With a V8 engine that produces 710-horsepower and reaches a top speed of 180 mph, this Dodge Durango is no ordinary SUV. However, it still is an SUV, meaning you take the whole family for a ride and let them experience the power of this HEMI engine.

If a car is going to bear the Mustang name, it must live up to the image of an ultra-powerful, joyous muscle car. The GT version of the Ford Mustang Mach-E makes a strong case. With 480-horsepower, the Mach-E GT is an incredibly thrilling drive. Styling changes – like black 20-inch wheels and performance seating – let you know that this is no ordinary EV. The Ford Mustang is synonymous with power and fun, and its environmentally-conscious cousin certainly does not disappoint on either.
2022 Hyundai Kona N Line (Coming spring 2021)

Now, we know what you’re thinking: A Hyundai Kona on a list of high-performance vehicles? Well, it’s more likely than you think. With the release of the 2022 model of the compact SUV, Hyundai announced there would also be a N Line version. The N Line (the N being a reference to the iconic German race track, the Nürburgring) brings bigger wheels, a sportier design, available All-Wheel Drive, and a 195-horsepower turbocharged engine to the Kona, making this SUV one gearheads will appreciate.
2022 Audi e-tron GT (Coming summer 2021)

The upcoming Audi e-tron GT is an incredible blend of technology and excitement. With an available boost mode, this sedan reaches 522-horsepower and can go from 0-60 mph in 3.9 seconds. Its sleek body shape and aggressive nose are modern but give a hint of the power underneath. And of course, being an Audi, the e-tron GT has all the luxuries you need, including a 12.3-inch Virtual Cockpit and a sculpted interior.
With a variety of different options, these hot new rides are sure to spice up your warmer months. If your summer plans involve a lot of driving; these vehicles will make everything more fun and bring a smile to your face.
