This month the Girl Scouts of America celebrate their 109th birthday. We’re all about Girl Power here at BestRide, and we wanted to participate in the celebration in our own sweet way. But how? If only there was a helpful, humorous connection we could draw between cars, car enthusiasts nationwide and the GSA. Hmmm… (Or should we say Mmmmm…)
Thin Mints – Cadillac Escalade: Smooth and luxurious.
Who doesn’t crave that sweet, smooth taste of a Thin Mint after a long day at the office? That refined, classic blend of mint meets dark chocolate says “Hey, I know what I like. And what I like is LUXURY.” You’re all about setting a killer first impression, and what better way to do it than with the minty breath that can only come from a Thin Mint. Showing off the iconic grille of the Escalade doesn’t hurt matters either. There’s nothing wrong with enjoying the finer things in life, so whether that’s a nice steak dinner (always medium rare), a dark glass of red wine from the hills of Tuscany to finish off your day, or snacking on a Thin Mint as you cruise in your Escalade, we’ve got one word for you: Classy.
If classy is all you, check out the Escalade.
Lemonades/Lemon-Ups – Jeep Renegade: Fun, zesty, little bit of attitude.
You’ve made that face before; you know the one. That undeniable pucker happens to the best of us when we take that first bite into a lemon, or a Lemon-Up. The kick only leaves you wanting more, and then a little more after that. When it comes to exploring our adventurous side, few things capture that zesty attitude better than the Jeep Renegade. You can’t gain anything if you don’t live a little, and what better way to live it up than with this cookie/car combo.
Trefoils/Shortbread – Honda Civic: Not flashy, still a solid choice.
Gimmicks, flash, and novelties are overrated. Why do we do the things we do? We’ll tell you, it’s to get the best results. Anyone who appreciates Trefoils gets this (and who among us can’t enjoy a nice shortbread every now and again?) The crisp exterior and buttery interior have stood the test of time for a reason. Much like a Honda Civic, you don’t need to re-invent the wheel; you already own the best one on the block. And it doesn’t have to be ostentatious to get the job done right. Take a look at the Honda Civic.
Samoas/ Caramel deLites – Hyundai Kona: Spontaneous, an interesting combination of flavors.
Admit it, you wouldn’t have come up with this combo on your own. You were probably even one of those non-believers when you first saw it. But curiosity won over, and thank goodness it did. The caramel and coconut balance out two different worlds with the help of that smooth dark chocolate to bring it all together. Drivers of a Hyundai Kona will tell you a similar story. Who knew “Hyundai” and “SUV” could ever blend together so perfectly? Don’t knock something until you’ve tried it. Try the Hyundai Kona
Tagalongs/Peanut Butter Patties – Toyota Highlander Hybrid: Adventure ready, solid road-trip choice.
An empty belly and the Low Gas Light are the nomad’s two worst nightmares. Whether you’re trekking cross–country or taking the scenic route home for a change, you want something hearty to keep any rumblings away from you living in the moment. That’s where Tagalongs and the Toyota Highlander are one and the same. The Tagalong’s layer of peanut butter with a rich chocolaty coating makes sure that you’re well-fed for the long run. Much like how the Toyota Highlander’s layer of V6 engine and impressive chocolaty efficiency gives you some of the best bang for your buck. Check out the Toyota Highlander for yourself.
Do-si-dos/ Peanut Butter Sandwich – Chrysler Pacifica: Fun for the whole family.
The best part of nostalgia is sharing what we loved as a kid with our own kids. Traditions are made this way, and we all have that one family road trip memory growing up. Dos-si-dos are simple enough that even the pickiest kids will love them, while an adult can appreciate the nuance of the oatmeal mixed in with the silky peanut butter. Like a Chrysler Pacifica, the enjoyment of this snack is multi-generational. Check out the generational charm of the Pacific.
Toffee-tastic – Range Rover: A little taste of England.
With just a bite of Toffee-tastic, chaps on the Wales countryside clay shooting in tweed jackets can be brought into your own backyard. (Well, not literally. That would be a bit crowded, wouldn’t it?) Sometimes those blokes from across the pond do things better with their whimsical sensibilities and dry wit, and the Range Rover truly is that sweet mix of English toffee classiness meets good old-fashioned American shortbread versatility. See the Range Rover for yourself.
Caramel Chocolate Chip – Ford F-150: A classic that can still surprise you.
What is more time-honored and time–tested than the chocolate chip cookie? It’s a staple, the standard to which all other cookies are to be held, a treat that simply will never be dethroned from its Treat-dom. So, too, can be said of the Ford F-150. The F-150 is the working man’s truck, it’s the truck of the people. What’s reliable, powerful, and gets the job done without a lot of fanfare? That’s the F-150. But there’s always a little room for improvisation, a little caramel twist that makes this truck a beast with brains. Much like the chocolate chip cookie, we can never underestimate how strong the taste really can be, no matter how familiar it is to us. Check out the new F-150 here.
Girl Scout S’mores – Subaru Outback: Camping!
What says camping and the great outdoors more than a gooey, marshmallow-y treat enjoyed by the campfire? Enjoying it from the back of a Subaru Outback, of course. A little bit of fun, a little bit of adventure, a little bit classic, turned on its head. Girl Scout S’mores are good enough to build a legacy on, and the Subaru Outback shares the same sentiment. If your goal is to bring a piece of mother nature with you anywhere you go, this car-cookie-combo goes together like chocolate and marshmallow. Check out the Subaru Outback, your ticket to the great outdoors.
