What Is It?
Its Nissan’s latest entry at LeMans, racing in the LM P1 Class this coming June.
Why Should You Care?
Because Race Car.
It’s the latest in a line of LeMans entries for Nissan, stretching back to 1986 when the brand first showed up with the R85V in 1986. In 1989, it returned with the R89C. The NISMO name first appeared in LeMans in 1995, with the NISMO GT-R LM, and Nissan returned again in 1997 and 1998 with the R390 GT1.
It’s been a long, long time since Nissan competed in LeMans, and at this level with full-on prototypes. It’s exciting to see the company return, and it give you hope that the performance ethic will trickle down to the production cars.
When Does It Go On Sale?
It doesn’t. Watch for it to compete at the 24 Hours of LeMans June 13 and 14.
