Chicago Auto Show 2015: 2016 Chevrolet Equinox

Posted by

What Is It?

The updated edition of Chevrolet’s all-new crossover. The five-passenger Equinox will receive a direct-injection 2.4-liter four-cylinder, with the option of a 3.6-liter V-6.

Why Should You Care?

Because it sells so insanely well for Chevrolet. If you leave out the Silverado, it’s the best selling vehicle in Chevrolet’s product line, making this introduction one of the most important at the Chicago Auto Show.

For next year, Chevy will slim down the trim list to a still-ridiculous five, versus the seven trims it offers this year. All-wheel drive will be available on all the trims except for the base level.

Chevy is also ramping up production at its plant in Ontario to satisfy Equinox demand. It’s also adding production in Mexico.

When Does It Go On Sale?

Fall of 2015. No word on pricing just yet.
