In typical Cadillac style, the automaker announced earlier this month that an all-new 2016 Cadillac CTS-V high performance sedan is scheduled to launch in late summer 2015.
This is a vehicle that straddles a stylish line between a luxurious sedan and a track ready sports car. With an electronically regulated top speed of 200 mph and the capacity to accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in only 3.7-seconds, this will be the most powerful Cadillac ever produced. The 2016 Cadillac CTS-V will have an MSRP of $83,995 (excluding tag, tax, and destination fees). You may place your order early, as well as view additional product information at Cadillac.com.
The 2016 Cadillac CTS-V will be equipped with a 640-horsepower supercharged 6.2-liter V8 engine and an eight-speed automatic transmission (with steering wheel mounted paddle shifters, of course). This will put the 2016 CTS-V out in front of many European luxury sedans by a sizable margin. It wil have more horsepower and torque than either the Mercedes-Benz 5.5-liter bi-turbo or the BMW M-Series 4.4-liter TwinPower V8.
Cadillac’s new 2016 V-Series models represent a significant expansion of the brand’s elite, high-performance line. Not only are the new V-Series cars elevated in terms of performance, they now reach a broader spectrum of drivers by presenting two distinct personalities, size categories and price points. “V-Series represents the pinnacle of Cadillac, a brand that now makes drivers’ cars at the highest level,” said Johan de Nysschen, Cadillac president. “The new CTS-V is essentially two cars in one: a luxury sedan with sophisticated road manners and a track-capable sports car with awe-inspiring performance. This type of car is exclusive, the domain of the few who can access this level of incredible capability. V-Series matches or overtakes the finest cars in this elite class, while being more accessible.”
This high-performance luxury sedan will feature exclusive third-generation Magnetic Ride Control. Magnetic Ride Control is the fastest reacting driver selectable suspension system used in any production vehicle. Other outstanding standard features include Brembo high performance brakes, 19-inch wheels wrapped in Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires, a carbon fiber hood for weight reduction, and sueded microfiber interior accents with matte finish carbon fiber trim.
