Win a Mazda MX-5 Cup Race Car and Help Fund a Cancer Charity

The Mazda MX-5 Miata has long proven its mettle as a track day star and racing competitor. If you’ve been hoping to someday park one in your driveway, then here’s your chance to get the ultimate MX-5 for racing. Lemons of Love Charity to raffling off a new MX-5 Cup race car.

The Mazda MX-5 Cup features cars that started their lives as MX-5 road cars before being transformed into race cars. Each has a welded and painted roll cage and 250 motorsports-specific parts to make it ready for the competition.

Lemons of Love is a non-profit organization started by Jill Swansn Peltier, who came up with the idea after being diagnosed with stage III colon cancer in 2014. She took a twist on the saying, “When life gives you lemons, make lemonade,” and turned it into, “When life gives you lemons – laugh out loud.”

The organization provides chemotherapy care packages that are delivered to cancer patients across the country. The motorsports connection comes through Swanson Peltier’s company, F.A.S.T Fresh Air Systems Technologies, which makes cooling suits and other products used in racing.

She first had the idea to raffle off a Mazda MX-5 Cup car last year, and it went so well, they decided to repeat the contest. A donation of $100 gets you an entry, which is a pretty cheap way to get yourself a chance at an amazing car and help out a worthy charity at the same time. Even if you don’t win, you will help Lemons of Love continue to support those fighting cancer.

There are monthly prizes raffled off to all entrants, too, and there’s still one to go before the grand prize is drawn this month. Enter before March 9 and you could win a subscription to Racer magazine.

The winner of the Mazda MX-5 Cup car will be drawn by John Doonan, Director of Mazda Motorsports, on Saturday, March 7 at 9 AM in the paddock at the Mobil 1 12 Hours of Sebring. In addition to the car, the winner will receive a F.A.S.T. driver cooling sytem, one season supply of Pagid brakes, Pro Series Model Bell helmet, G-Force 745 driver’s suit, Battery Tender charger, Racer magazine subscription, and an entry in 24 Hours of Lemons.
