The other night I had a chance to check out the new 2015 Jeep Renegade. What grabbed my attention just as much, though, was this 1951 Willys CJ-3A, which was there on display, too. We talked with the owner a bit and we’ll be profiling him in the coming months. He’s got a great collection of six vintage Jeeps we’re interested in checking out.
This one is a 1951 Willys CJ-3A, the second generation of civilian Jeeps available. These flat-tendered Willys Jeeps were originally powered by a 60hp, 134-cu.in. L-head “Go Devil” four cylinder, but this one’s been modified with the later Dauntless V6 from the first CJ-5s that Kaiser produced in 1965.
For now, take a look at the photos and know that we’ll have more when we catch up with the owner.
