All good things must come to an end, and that includes cars, even ones that are much loved and a heck of a lot of fun to drive. The Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution is one such car and it’s ending production with a special Final Edition. The very last of these is up for auction on eBay, with proceeds going to charity.

They’re building just 1600 units of the limited-run Final Edition and the only way you can get your hands on #1600 is through the eBay auction. The starting price on the Evo Final Edition is $34,495, but the auction is already much higher with a good many days to go before it’s done on September 15.

The proceeds will go to several worthy causes in California. Funds will be split 50/50 between Second Harvest Food Bank in Orange County and Feeding America in Riverside and San Bernadino. Now you have good reason to hope the auction price creeps higher, even if it does quickly put this car out of your reach.

What will you get if you win the auction? The very last Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution Final Edition has 303 horsepower and 305 lb-ft of torque from a turbocharged 2.0-liter 4-cylinder engine with a 5-speed manual transmission. There are Bilstein shocks and Eibach springs along with 2-piece Brembo front rotors.

The exterior is New Diamond Pearl White and has a Final Edition badge, black painted aluminum roof, gloss black center bumper and hood air outlet, and dark chrome painted Enkei alloy wheels. You’ll also get auto on/off bi-xenon high intensity discharge headlights with leveling control.

Inside there’s a gloss black center console with a production serial number plaque to prove you have the last Evo. There’s also unique Final Edition animation on the meter display and red stitching on the seats, steering wheel, shift knob, floormats, console lid, and brake handle.

If you’re worried you won’t be able to afford the price on the last Evo and that you’ll miss your chance to won an Evo, relax. Although this one is the last one, there are still Final Edition Evos available through dealerships. You can walk in and buy one right now, it just won’t be the coveted last one ever.
