We mentioned last week that Jerry Seinfeld is currently shooting the next season of Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee. Now, the New York Times is reporting that he’s shooting an episode with his former Seinfeld co-star, Julia Louis-Dreyfus.
Julia Louis-Dreyfus has had a pretty stellar career since Seinfeld wrapped up. For five years on CBS, she starred in the sitcom The New Adventures of Old Christine. She’s currently receiving tons of acclaim for her HBO sitcom VEEP.
She’s indelibly associated with her character Elaine Benes from Seinfeld, though, and aside from a few appearances here and there, it’s the first time she and Seinfeld have appeared together since the show ended.
Both Jason Alexander and Michael Richards have appeared on Seinfeld’s web series.
Cars were often a storyline in Seinfeld, especially related to Elaine.
In season 4, Elaine got a ride in Jerry’s smelly BMW 5-Series, which stunk so bad she had to seek out Taylor Negron’s expert advice in getting the smell out of her hair:
After she and George Costanza hit a pothole in Jerry’s car, she invents a pack of wild teenagers:
She’s surprised to learn that her Saab-mechanic-boyfriend David Puddy’s car radio presets are Christian rock:
She’s even fascinated by just the tires:
No word yet on what classic car Seinfeld chose to cart Julia Louis-Dreyfus around in, but given that she’s the great-great-granddaughter of Léopold Louis-Dreyfus, who in 1851 founded the Louis Dreyfus Group, a French commodities and shipping conglomerate, we’re guessing it’s a Citroen SM.
