The Jeep Gladiator Mojave made its debut at the 2020 Chicago Auto Show showcasing an all-new Desert Rated badge. Alongside the existing off-road capable Trail Rated badge, the Gladiator Mojave is the first Desert Rated vehicle in the Jeep lineup.
The Gladiator Mojave gets not just its own unique desert styling, but the capability to handle high-speed desert racing. Its 4×4 system and suspension system are both upgraded to handle the rigors of unforgiving desert terrain and lots of sand.
The Desert Rated badge isn’t just for looks. Jeep came up with a series of tests and broke them down into five categories that the new Gladiator Mojave had to pass before being certified as Desert Rated.
These tests covered ride control and stability, traction, ground clearance, maneuverability, and desert prowess. All Desert Rated Jeeps will have the capability to handle desert terrain, unpredictable surfaces, and the intense heat of desert environments.
The Gladiator Mojave has specially-tuned Fox 2.5-inch internal bypass shocks with external reservoirs. This improves handling in all conditions and helps resist bottoming out in high-speed driving. Front and rear shock reservoirs help keep shock liquid cool to prevent shock fade in the desert heat.
Industry-first Fox front hydraulic jounce bumpers act like a second pair of shocks. They provide additional damping force to soften impacts, reduce bottoming out, and increase damping performance in the last few inches of suspension travel.
There’s also a reinforced frame, one-inch suspension lift, silver front skid plate, and stronger axles with cast-iron steering knuckles. Jeep Performance Parts step sand slider side rails and standard 33-inch Falken Wildpeak All-terrain tires complete the package. Additional exterior adornments include a unique hood decal on a heavy-duty performance hood with center scoop, Desert Rated badges, and bright orange tow hooks.
Inside, the Gladiator Mojave has modified, more aggressive front seats with integrated upper bolsters to hold passengers in place. They’re available in leather or cloth with bright orange accent stitching and embroidered Mojave logos. A choice of two interior colors includes Black or Steel Gray.
The 2020 Jeep Gladiator Mojave arrives at your local dealership this Spring with pricing to be announced.
