The name Denali has become a recognizable beacon for rich truck luxury, and now for 2017, it’s being applied to the Canyon pickup.
Proving that you don’t have to go big to feel premium, the Canyon Denali has touches inside and out that will get any sybarite’s motor running.
GMC first introduced this richer Canyon at last year’s LA Auto Show. Now, it’s ready to hit GMC dealers.

Here’s what the Denali adds to the Canyon:
- Heated steering wheel
- GMC IntelliLink with Navigation and an 8-inch-diagonal color touchscreen
- 4G Wi-Fi hotspot
- Automatic climate control
- Full-color driver information center
- Remote start
- Bose® premium seven-speaker audio system
- Two USB charging ports on the rear of the center console and another inside the console
- Forward Collision Alert and Lane Departure Warning
This is in addition to some exclusives to the Denali, like these 20-inch wheels. The tubular steps are part of the Denali package as well.
Exclusive to Denali inside are the heated and ventilated leather seats, and the unique instrument panel and console trim.
As with most pickup luxury editions, there are plenty of badges identifying this truck apart from the others. First in the bed…
…then when you look down after opening the door…
…and then high on the seat when you look up.
The Canyon Denali’s motive force comes from GMC’s 308-horsepower, 3.6-liter V6 engine. It includes Active Fuel Management, a fancy name for cylinder deactivation, to save fuel.
The Canyon Denali’s V6 is mated to an eight-speed that adds two speeds to last year’s transmission – it’s a segment-first.
