In an effort to keep you, the reader, informed of every rusty hulk we find beside the road, we present “For Sale Beside the Road,” today featuring this 1985 1/2 Porsche 944.

“We’re the second owners and have enjoyed this car,” notes the seller. “We’re selling it due to kid’s college expenses, but will not give this car away. We will garage it for a couple of years if needed.”

Over the last two years, the seller claims the Porsche 944 has had new tires, engine mounts, timing belt. The heat is disconnected, but the air conditioning works. The passenger window sticks at times, and there is a bit of rust in the front quarter.

“This is a 29 year old car with issues common to 944s,” says the seller. “But it’s been very reliable and drives nicely.”

The price: $3,800 or best reasonable offer.

What say you, BestRiders? Is this guy on the money, or is he sniffing glue?

Shoot Craig Fitzgerald a note at if you’re interested in it. The car’s located in Holliston, Massachusetts.

  1. Never really cared for these all that much but it doesn’t look too bad. Everytime I see one of these I envision the Thompson Twins-“Wish You Were” playing. That,of course, would be a nod to John Hughes and “Sixteen Candles”.
