When I buy my next house, the garage is going to be five times the size of the house. I don’t even care if it has indoor plumbing. This 20-bay garage with some kind of house attached is exactly what I’ll be looking for next time around.
Located in the Hudson River Valley in upstate New York, the house is modestly priced at $259,000. Keep in mind that there isn’t a hell of a lot of work in a lot of those towns between Albany and Westchester County, so this might be a place you retire to, but holy smokes, a 20-car garage.
The only question here is what I’d start filling it with.
The ad cites:
2600 sq. ft open span studio, workshop or parking for 17 cars (44′ X 60″) with 10′ ceilings (plus attic storage) and 7 overhead doors (drive-through capable), attached to a 2 story 2000 sq. ft. house with 3 car heated garage (3 more overhead doors), family room and mud room downstairs, PLUS 4 bedrooms 1 1/2 baths, kitchen and laundry upstairs.
The ad is currently up on Craigslist, but you wouldn’t think a place like this would last long.
