The 2017 Mercedes-Benz SL hits the LA Auto Show with a new front end and revisions for the transmission and suspension.
What Is It?
The SL is Mercedes-Benz’s iconic convertible. It got its last full redo for 2013, and the changes for 2017 bring it in line with the updates filtering into other vehicles in the Mercedes lineup. Most apparent is the “diamond” radiator grille, which we’ve also seen on S-Class coupe.
What Mercedes-Benz Is Saying:
Ola Källenius, Member of the Board of Management of Daimler AG, Mercedes-Benz Cars Sales & Marketing:
“The SL is an all-season vehicle that is fully suited for daily use, but above all it is a dream car for those special moments as a couple. Whatever its owner desires, it fulfils the expectations with technical perfection.”
What’s New For 2017:
- “Diamond” radiator grille and revised hood, headlights and front bumper
- 9G-TRONIC nine-speed automatic transmission with five Dynamic Select modes
- Active Body Control with curve tilting function
- Folding to can be operated up to 24 mph
