This week, we’re covering the LA Auto Show. We’ll be posting from the Connected Car Expo, and covering the major debuts taking place on Wednesday and Thursday. We’re working with our pals from Car Talk, and our special guest this year is car guy and comedian Alonzo Bodden!

About Alonzo Bodden

Alonzo Bodden won Season 3 on NBC’s Last Comic Standing, and he’s a popular regular on NPR’s Wait Wait…Don’t Tell Me, produced by the same awesome folks as the people who brought you Car Talk.

LA Auto Show - Alonzo BoddenAlonzo is a major car guy, and a bona fide aviation mechanic. He got his first job working on planes with at the age of 18, and eventually worked on the B-2 Stealth Bomber. His first car was a 1967 Chevy Camaro with a V-8 and a Muncie four-speed.

His first big break in comedy came when he appeared on the “New Faces of Comedy” showcase at the Just For Laughs Festival in Montreal. He eventually placed as a runner-up in Season 2 of Last Comic Standing. He won the show’s grand prize in 2007. Since, he’s gone on to host Speed Channel’s 101 Cars You Must Drive and America’s Worst Driver on Travel Channel.

LA Auto Show - Alonzo Wait WaitNPR listeners will know Alonzo Bodden from his frequent appearances as a panelist on Wait Wait…Don’t Tell Me, the popular and Peabody Award-winning news quiz show. He also hosts his own comedy podcast Who’s Paying Attention available on iTunes, Stitcher, or wherever you download your podcasts.

We’ll be posting videos featuring Alonzo Bodden starting Thursday at approximately 3:00p.m. EST.
