NHTSA Safety Recall Update — March 25, 2015

This week’s allotment of National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) letters are surprisingly sparse. As a matter of fact, only a single entry totaling more than 100,000-units is present. The American Honda Motor Company has had a real challenge on their hands when it comes to Takata airbag inflators and how to get them replaced in a timely manner. Nearly every other automaker that you can imagine has been affected by the same problem. This time the Takata “bug” has bitten the Honda Civic and Pilot. The Civic is a compact car, sold as either a coupe or sedan and the Pilot which is a popular sport utility vehicle.
